Crisis can strike anyone, at any time. Whether it will be sudden job loss, health challenges, or homelessness, too many Canadians will find themselves without the essentials they need. That’s where our Northern Care program will step in — offering wellness kits, healthcare support, and hope.

The Human Side of Crisis: Real Stories of Resilience


Every Northern Care kit will carry more than supplies — it will carry hope. A young mother will feel supported as she rebuilds her life, an elderly man will be reminded that he is not forgotten, and families in hardship will know their community stands with them. These moments will show that even the simplest acts of compassion can reignite dignity, restore strength, and spark the confidence needed to move forward.


These stories will remind us that small acts of compassion can restore dignity and build confidence to keep going.


What Will Go Into a Care Kit?


Northern Care kits will be designed with real needs in mind. They will often include:


  • Hygiene items (toothpaste, soap, shampoo).
  • Seasonal essentials (gloves, socks, blankets).
  • Groceries and gift cards 
  • Notes of encouragement from volunteers.


Each kit will be a bridge of empathy — practical support wrapped in human kindness.

Northern Care will not just be about supplies. We will collaborate with healthcare workers, nurses, and volunteers who will provide on-the-ground support. From flu prevention to wellness checks, our partnerships will ensure Canadians in crisis receive both immediate and ongoing care.

The ultimate goal of Northern Care is to move from crisis to stability. By meeting

basic needs, people can take the next step: accessing housing, healthcare, or

employment programs. Care kits are often the first spark of confidence that leads

to reintegration.
